Wall of sound festival

Wall Of Sound Festival 2007 - Saturday, September 22 - LaGrave Field in Fort Worth, TexasWall Of Sound Festival 2007 - Saturday, September 22 - LaGrave Field in Fort Worth, Texas

The wall of sound it’s a concert which showcases some of the best musicians of the country (mainly Texas), and allows the public experience a quality of music which can't be heard in any of the main stream music. Although it came late this year the concert will be in my humble opinion has one of the best line-up I’ve seen in a long time. The concert will be held this year at the Fort Worth historic LaGrave field and it looks to be something that will leave people talking for years to come.

Here are some of the artists music that will be featured, hope to see you there!!!

Marry me do out on July

So by now you should already know that St. Vincent its one of my favorite artist out there, first of all she is part of the amazing Polyphonic Spree who's new album was released last week, she is also multi talented being able to play like a gazillion instruments on top of having a delightful voice, to add the cherry on top of the whipped cream she is also form Dallas. Her album Marry Me, its going to be released this July 10th and you all know that I'll be playing it at work every day; best of all like every artist that is releasing a new CD she'll be touring all around starting, where else but Denton Tx. Although I prefer her live sound better I can definitely think her CD its good enough to make my collection

Ghosthustlers

A band form Denton Tx. with awesome beats that brings sex to mind, its a young fresh sound, almost comparable to LCD Soundsystem. The lead singer Alan Palomo has a very Strong and very young Brit punk sound which complements their funky electro-beats. Although they mainly play in the Dallas area for all you people who lives in New York they've posted some shows for your town, I think that you'll find that their sound blend well with the New York scene so Help Them Book some!!!!

Greatest Concert EVER!!

I've been to many concerts, and when I say many I mean many; A concert can be defined as great for many reasons, how great is your music, can you engage your public, and if you can't can you transport them to another place by playing your music better than what they can hear from your Cd's. See I'm not trash talking any other concerts I've been to, they are all great and they all each bring something different to the table, but this last Wednesday I saw a concert that top them all off.

Lets start off by the opening band Mom, its nice combo of experimental music along the lines of Octopus project (although I would not put them head to head) which was a great warm up, then lets turn on the heat by making to Videohippos, with a nice combo of great music and videos, remember they are behind the screen.

And now le piece de resistance, Dan Deacon. Now we know his music its amazing, but really his music doesn't sound half as good as if you hear it live, it has the power of transporting you to an imaginary world in which every single person is there are dancing and acting silly. He has said in previews interviews that he had the ability to make everyone in a room dance, and I must admit that I was really skeptic at first; I mean don't get me wrong I was planing to dance and all, but what I Wasn't planing was, waking up next day with a stiff neck. The truth is that for just a minute of talking with him I could tell he didn't care who you where (hipster, emo, indie, punk...) he just wanted to make you have a great time, he wasn't even looking for the attention, hence the fact he wasn't using the stage. What amazed me the most was not only that he was able to make the shyest guy in the room do crazy things, but also that he engage his public, at one point he brought robes and sheets with lyrics in the and he made all of us sing "Wham city", to top it off we had a dance off.

If you get a chance to go and see this shows, do not miss it or you will be a big idiot.
Cheers.
