Ghosthustler

Yesterday Disco Dust posted Ghosthustler’s single “Some one else’s ride”, I guess so that bitches like me would stop complaining about not being able to have one of their hottest song. As I mentioned on my last blog and pretty much ever single blog of Ghosthustler, this song is truly amazing, it is still mind numbing to believe that with all the hype there is on this band, they are yet still to be sign by any record label.

Bitchee Bitchee ya ya ya

On my first post of this crazy cats (yes I just turned 50), I posted about their song "Fuck Friends", well they just released the video for it and to not make this post a complete crap, I'm also including "The Anthem". I apologize in advance; I'm just freaking out cause Starbucks is closing for 3 hours today.

Diego Chavez

Sunday is a day in which people like to do absolutely nothing, I would have loved to say I followed this trend; however because of my addiction to music contributed by my short attention span, I spend the day looking for new music since the CD’s I’ve been listening to are irritating me. In moments of desperation I normally browse the many pages of Myspace, some bring me great results, some just make me realize how much posing people do in those pages (me included). Today I stroke gold when I reached the page of Diego Chavez, a once hip-hop contributor Chavez has been working in the last years on more chill and electro projects. The Following song is something we’ve heard before plenty of times with a different spin.

M.I.A.

I don't know how to say this so here it comes, I'm not a fan of M.I.A; I mean I see why people like her and I think she is a gorgeous girl, but for some reason I don't like her music. Recently I found two remixes of her song "Paper Planes" one by Holly Fuck and the other one by DFA personally I think both remixes help the song become a bit more interesting; although I personally like the Holly Fuck version better because it brings a little punk edge to it.
Here is a link to the DFA mix:

Datarock

Two crazy Norwegians who have set their hopes to concord the world by changing the face of Idie Pop music, their bit is they always wear track suits. This band has a really hard task ahead specially in this day of age in which Indie Pop is so saturated by tons and tons of Birt-pop; however Datarock has managed to create fun danceable Indie Pop, without letting their outfits outshine their music.

MGMT (Management)

On my last day in my music job, I was really interested in ending the streak of bad music December had left me with, I decided to have one last look to the new releases before I took over my new post. Right away I noticed a band called MGMT and though I like them, I decided to resist the temptation knowing they would probably become the next Teenagers; however lately I’ve been finding it difficult to resist the spell, specially after a few listens of the song “Electric Feel”, I decided to give the album a second chance and alas I must say I love it.

Rafter

There is an article on Rafter Roberts on this months Paste magazine, it was talking about his 2007 debut album Music for Total Chickens, of which I bloged on April 2007; however around that time I discovered this youtube video of a song that at that moment didn't know its name, after a nice email form Rafter I became aware that the songs name was "ZZPenchant", part of some new material he was working on back then. On January 28th 2008 his new CD Sex Death Cassette was released, I really hope you guys enjoy it as much as the other one.

Ghosthustler New Release

So my I tell you how much it sucks when a band releases a new song on their Myspace page and they talk about a single, but the single is only going to be available in a few months and even though this artist is local he is going to SWSW to do so. Ghosthustler is one a great emerging indie electro-wave artist coming form Texas.

As you well know, Ghosthustler released a new song a month ago called “Only me to trust” part of the compilation of local artist by We Shot JR; however they posted a two days ago a blog announcing the release of a new song, “ Some one else’s ride”. Warning, I’m about to say something that at no point should be considered as a bad review, but this new song by quality wise, is one hundred percent better than “Only me to trust”; of curse to toy with us Ghosthustler have announce their plan to release their new album until SWSW. Great!!!! They are going all the way to the south to release their new album, ain’t that the topping of my already crappy luck!!!!

Kiiiiii

I honest to god have no opinion on this, I kind of like it, but I'm also wondering weather they are a bit too ridiculous about it; also in their song "4 little Joey" it makes me believe they are ruining one of my childhoods favorites songs. You decide!!!
