Muke

Muke represents the mood that I'm in today, so I do what to do a warning for all of you who wanted something loaded with electro beats, no, this is a more relaxed acoustic post, which you must admit are the best for a hot summer evening in Texas.

Muke are a duo from Oregon who after playing around decided, "hey, we are good, lets make some music" and so it all got started. Whenever I heard their song "Hamburger Waltz"(which is not Vegetarian friendly) it made me feel: A)hungry (haven't had a burger or meat in a while), and B)Really happy; once that happened I realized that is exactly what a song is supposed to do; its the reason I write this blog, to shear all the music out there that makes me happy in hopes that it does the same thing to you.

Rewind

I was afraid today that I was going to pull another yesterday, you see I kind of partied too hard at Disqo Disco and their special DJ friend Czar and I really wasn't in the mood to write; this all changed whenever I received an email from our good friend of Buffetlibre, who just created a new mix tape called " Buffetlibre DJ's Rewinded" and rewind me they did. The mix features a wide range of 80's artist all remixed by different DJs some included on their first project, making this tape simply amazing; the best part is that they promised more to come and we sure hope so.

So there are a few post about Keedz out there and I have very little time to blog today so I'll just leave you with the music, which is what really count and refrain my self form making comparisons, for I think its best to let everyone do what they will and let them sound as they should. Spells!

Coming to us from New York, the Spells! are a band who no longer are. For the longest time I obsessed over their music and after months I was finally able to get a song to post. This week while in a party I find out that they've broken up and had made all of their song available on their Myspace, although sad I was also excited to get my hands in such magnificent masterpieces.

Pacific!, CSS, and Black Kids

Indeed this is a good week. Finally after a long wait the CDs by Pacific!, Cansei de Ser Sexy(CSS), and the Black Kids have been released.

I first blogged about Pacific! back in January and I've really haven't stopped since then; with their amazing remixes and awesome CD which I've owned for a while, this may be the new release which I've been expecting the most.
Why is worth buying:
Pacific! - Break your social system
Pacific! - Hot Lips
Pacific! - Sunset Blvd
Pacifc! - Number one

Cansei de Ser Sexy or CSS was a post that I did this past week, and now that the their new CD is out I can tell you its well worth buying; unlike their first CD the band was able to grow inmensly working with artist like Bjork to name a few; even though its missing the rawness of their first album, experience makes perfection.
Why is worth buying:
CSS - Rat is dead
CSS - Left Behind
Css - Give up

Then we have the new CD by the Black Kids, whose singles have been stirring up hype since they were released and other artist (Twelves) have been remixing them.
Why are they worth buying:
Black Kids - Making eyes at you

Cold War Kids

Today it became available to donload the new single by Cold War Kids, "Something is not right with me"; this is to create anticipation for the release of their brand new album, "Loyalty to Loyalty" available on September 23rd. What can i say, after their last album you can only expect one thing from the Cold War Kids and its a hit and their brand new single does just that. I've included the website were the song is available for "Free" download.

Eugene Francis Jnr

I was really excited to receive a song by Eugene Francis Jnr, it's not only because its beautifully written, but it also bring something new to the Electronic and Folk genre. UK native Eugene Francis Jnr's just recently released his new single "My Own Pollution" a song that brings a new life to music; the lyrics are deep and spiritual just like those costume by Folk singers, but is rejuvenated by adding synths that feel like fresh water.

Kronx

For something fun, I ran into Brazilian band Kronx. Continuing the recent trend were everything good must be an import, this guys are form Rio de Janerio and can I say how awesome are they; with a mixture of guitar, drums and electric synths it makes it really easy to get into. I'm also including a mix they did on 06 but its still pretty banging.

Evil Nine "They LIve"

I honestly thought that Evil Nine's new CD was already out, maybe is because I listen to so much British radio, well apparently its only the single; however the full LP will be out in October, and its promised to be a great hit, specially cause of the mixture of sounds and beats, and since apparently they are trying to make zombies cool again ( didn't Gorillaz try that already?). For the time being we can always enjoy a little bit of their awesome single "They live" available now.

Twelve (Demo)

Today was a day of new releases online, not only with the Midnight Juggernauts, but also the Twelves gave an exclusive to DiscoDust to post their newest demos. As you guys know the twelves are well known for their remixes of other artist like, New Young Pony club, Zeigeist, Black kids, and although their remixes are in themseves really original, they've never done any orignal work till today; according to Disco Dust they may be fishing for a record deal. Wouldn't it be funny if someone remixes them.

Midnight Juggenauts

Oh what is going on two continuous posting of the same band. Midnight Juggernauts yesterday released the video of the remix of their song "Into the Galaxy" done by no other than Grand Master Flash (cock teases). Since is the weekend and is a great song regardless, I decided to post it, it is also available to download at their myspace.

Yes it was released today, big woop, wanna fight about it?

the Liars

My mom always said, "If you can't say anything good about some one, shut the Fuck up!!"; well she didn't say that but god I wish she would have. California based band The Liars are releasing their new album August 16 and already is getting some mixed reviews from blogs all around, some of them are actually really cruel; my believe is never to blog about a band I don't like, it keeps it nicer and it also it helps me focus on the good bands; don't get me wrong every once in a while I do go on a rant or two, but it is only if it's truly necessary. The Liars was a band who like many others, decided to take a different approach on their sophomore CD, I get it and I like it, now its time for you the reader to make you own judgment about them yourself; its bad enough society tells us every day what to do and what to think, if you like something be passionate abut it.

MIT

Have I told anyone how much I enjoy being a Blogger, ever since I put down an email for people to contact I've been getting so many good stuff I've actually have been able to blog from Monday to Friday, too bad its only little ol' me, because it can be really time consuming. Yesterday I got an email on this German Electro Punk band MIT and I got hard just listening to them; their sound is hard pounding, with lots of energy, so much in fact that although I received two remix of their latest single Rauch I consider the original is powerful enough to get you pumped through the week. Don't forget to get their new album "Coda" available at their record label.

Disqo Disco Tuesday nights

Dallas rejoice, finally! If you want to dance to nice Indie and Electronic music you have a place to do so, without having to take a trip to Denton on Wednesday. Yesterday I decided to take a look and see whats all the hype that people have been talking about from Tuesday nights at Fallout Lounge. Disqo Disco of which a I've already posted about once before, Dj's every Tuesdays playing a lot of stuff that if you are a reader of my blog you are definitely familiar with.

When I first got there one of the members was setting up equipment, soon there after the real music started. Music wise, it was a great selection I specially liked the mini tribute to the late Ghosthustler ; although there were a few transition glitches overall the music went on smoothly, it was kind of unfortunate that a few awesome hits were ignored by the crowd, but the true is that just because scenesters look cool does not mean they have good taste in music; that being said if you've party with me, you know that I could give a shit if no one is dancing, if the music is hot I'll be dancing by myself, its just my way to pay respect to the DJ and artist who creates such work of art. Over all I definitely will be making the trip every Tuesday, and I think you should too.
I've included some of the songs which people ignore, but that I danced like a fool that way you can see how stupid people are.

Buffet Libre Glory to the 80's

No this is not a remix of Tori Amos's "Glory of the 80's" (god I could only wish). On July 1st was the release of Rewind the cover project of Buffet Libre was released. Buffet Libre is the Spanish website dedicated to the promotion of Pop and Electronic music in legal mp3 format. To kick off their website they've gathered 60 artist, and for their part these artist have made covers of 80's hits, its quite a brilliant compilation. Here are a few of the song covers available a the website.

Shock of Pleasure

Dallas native Shock of Pleasure are doing something very rare these days, they are bringing good ol' fashion chill and sultry music back into the electronic world. Their sound comparable to those of Portishead, Thievery Corporation , and Sneaker Pimps to name a few. Their lead singer Kelly Christian's voice is nice and smooth; enough to transport you into a electronic land of serenity and ecstasy. Be sure to check out their new album, "Its About Time" available this fall.

Magic Johnson

Its Monday, need I say more? I need a pick me up which can only be fulfilled by guitars and drums. For no apparent reason the only thing I want to listen to today is to Magic Johnson, their CD has been released for a few months and it tags along the lines of Mika Miko and Finally Punk; although the reside in Oregon their music is mainly in Spanish, but don't worry their message is translates just fine. Through out the CD they talk about domestic problems and they even do a cover of Juan Gabriel's "Querida" and is so much better in part cause I don't like Juan Gabriel. I've also included a song by the A Frames just cause I like it.

New Release Picks

It is always fun to be a blogger, specially whenever there is something new on Tuesdays worth blogging about; since this is the case this week I've decided to focus on two.

First off, for those of us who have been anxiously awaiting the release of Ratatat's newest album, the wait is finally over. The album is simply amazing form start to finish and it makes me gitty to say that they may be my new Octopus Project, the sound is amazing and oh! so refreshing.

Ratatat - Mirando

Next is a band that I thought were cool the first time I hear them, but I was perplexed whenever I saw them live. Architecture in Helsinki's 2007 release is coming back to hunt us, with the release of their ep of the song "Like it or not", like always in it you'll find different variations of this single; however there is a specific one that caught my attention and is mainly because is kind of a fusion of Colombian Ballenato; yes is weird, its odd, but it's cool.

Pnau feat. Ladyhawke Remix

Honestly I wasn't planning on posting this today, but I simply did not wanted to feel left out; it also gave me an excuse do my last post since, like I mentioned before I procrastinated. Today all the hype is around the remix that Fred Flake and Miami Horror released. Pnau's single Embrace featuring Ladyhawke has been out for a while but this remix is a pretty awesome take in my opinion.

Pnau (featuring Lady Hawke) - Embrace (Fred Flake/Miami Horror Remix)

Ladyhawke

So actually this post was supposed to be publish in April but it so happens that I'm a procrastinator; not to worrie cause this post also ties in with the one coming up next. Ladyhawke has is an amazing singer form New Zealand who has been rocking my world for a few months; you see for me, the idea of women Rocking does not include fake hair extensions of unnatural colors, or Pink. Comparisons aside she definitely has a Benatar air but it all stops there. Now my for my favorite part, the remixes; her latest single "Paris is Burning" has been remixed by two amazing artist on of them my favorite band of 08 Cut Copy and the other by Alex Gopher both different, both amazing.

DatA

French genius DatA just released his new single today called "Rapture" (yes it has been buzzing around the blogesphere for weeks). You may know DatA for his remixes of M83 and Chromeo to name a few, this time DatA has created an original, full of synths and crazy beats. Since DatA has done an amazing job on remixing other people's stuff I thought it would be appropriate to post a remix of his new single, and who is better to do so than my favorite guys of Pacific!.
Hope your 4th of July was off the charts.

Brendan Canning

If you are reading this I may already be dead, or really, really tired. I decided to write this post a few days before so that I can actually take the weekend off without remorse. Brendan Canning is one of the members of the former Broken Social Scene, for people who have been leaving under a rock, its the band were Feist came form; anyway Mr. Canning's first solo album will be released later July, but as always a song "mysteriously" has been leaked to the public and to be honest it isn't half bad, actually I like it very much. I've also included one of my favorite songs of the former Broken Social Scene.

Jens Lekman

Swedish singer Jens Leckman newest CD has been in stores for a few months, I personally had not written about him because a CD has to grab me form the get go or I'll just drop it; I was also going to say that he sounded like Barry Manilow but I'm not going, cause I don't wanna die; so instead I'm going to post two versions of his song, "Sipping on the sweet nectar" and call it quits, warrning the remix version was to big to download in my regular files so I had to use a temp.
PS: This is my 100 post, weee!!!!

Zeigeist

I was planning not to post anything today, just because I've giving up on waiting for the Twelves to post their new remix of Swedish Zeigeist's song "Humanitarism"; however to my surprise today a "low quality song" was posted in another blog, I personally can't hear much of a difference. Zeigeist version is simply amazing by its self and all their music is simply amazing; I'm also going to include the original version, as well as their myspace and a link to the blog were I got the remix form (I don't hate).

Bufi

Bufi is a DJ for Mexico city that has been in my play list for a while, but had neglected to blog about because of other things that I had neglected, I mean c'mon I haven't blogged about the new Sigur Ros and I got the mp3 moths before it was released. It is always nice that in life some times in life you sometimes you get a second chance to redeem your self, a few days ago Bufi announced that he released a new track called Cassius Remix, and just like the previews songs and remixes Bufi has released it is without a doubt a smashing hit. Its always nice to know that not only there is talent everywhere but also scenesters.
