La Dolce Vita Remixes

I'm currently salivating due to this post, Chicago native La Dolce Vita has sent over some amazing remixes by Trash Yourself, The Faint, and Innerparty System and they are as amazing as what you've come to expect form them. If you are not familiar with La Dolce Vita, they are a Chicago Scene duo known as a staple of the electronic scene, they have mastered remixes by Yelle, Shiny Toy Guns, and Kill Hanna to name a few and all of their remixes are flawless; honestly they are one of the reasons why I would love to move to Chicago one day.

Dark Mean "Frankencottage"

At first I was a bit apprehensive whenever I received the the e-mail with Dark Mean's latest EP "Frankencottage"; at first I thought it was a Gothic band, but I gave it a chance because the first title of the EP is called "Happy Banjo" and I love Banjos (I know my logic is stupid) and though the song does has banjos most of their other stuff are intermixed with electronic beats. I am including two songs but you can go to their website and get the rest.
Dark Mean - Happy Banjo
Dark Mean - Frankencottage

Boy Eats Drum Machine

Boy Eats Drum Machine is Portland native Jon Ragel, a multi-talented artist who has just released his latest album "Boomboxxx" a really amazing CD with experimental sort of Trip-hop sound, whats amazing is that this is all done by Jon Ragel who like I've mentioned before is a genius on the instruments. He is currently touring in different areas of the US and for what the reviews say it is a show worth while.

I just love Au Revoir Simone and a remix is always better.

Post Honeymoon is a Chicago duo with a synth-punk sound... and yes they are wed to another. Their latest self titled Lp will be released June 9th on the Chicago independent collective label "Two Thumbs Down (The Hood Internet, Sleep Out)" and there after they are launching a US tour. To me the band has a nice 1990 vintage punk rock sound, since its been a while since I've heard something like this it makes me nostalgic of the good ol' days of Sleater Kinney, Bikini Kill, Le Tigre, etc... but please correct me if I'm wrong.
Post Honeymoon - Night Guard
Post Honeymoon - First World Problems

Here is a remix of a song that has been remixed plenty before but still doesn't get old, this one is brought to you by The Tremulance, enjoy.

I'm Not a Band

From Germany comes the cool kids of I'm Not a Band . This dinamic duo sent me their stuff at the begining of the month, but I could not figure out how to download the files (remember, computer chalenged?) today they sent over a remix by the Manliest girls of Men or the rest of Le Tigre, but I wanted to start with their own stuff since is really cool and inovative.

Grande Mistake eeh? Anyhow; I did have a good listen to the tune and its a stellar dance remix really beautifully crafted just the way Mmmattias can remix it. If you have not heard of Moderat please have a listen to their mymyspace its simply electrifying.

Don Diablo sent out his remix of Dragonette's latest track "Fixing to Thrill" which he debuted last Friday on BBC Radio1; he has sent two version his regular remix and the Dub version which although I'm not a fan of Dub, I must say it adds an edge to the mix so I'm including both.

OK I'm about to get Hip Hop up in here, so bare with me. LehtMoJoe is still doing the one release per week, till July 31st when he will release his debut album; today's remix is by Common called Gladiator...now you all know I'm not a fan of Hip Hop, I can count the Hip Hop artist I like on my right hand, locally Common is one of those who I like, its all about the MC factor...so I guess I got lucky on this post.

Au Revoir Simone "Still Night, Still Light"

Au Revoir Simone is about to release their latest CD "Still Night, Still Light" next Tuesday. If you remember last year it seemed that every other post was about Au Revoir Simone remix, or re-make, collaboration, or other and to be hones form some one who has been able to listen the whole CD this may happen again with this release. I'm including only two songs "All or nothing" and "Shadows" because I'm afraid to get another email saying that I'm infringing copy right; the first one "All Or Nothing" reminds me of their other song "Sad Song", but I guess you can judge for your self.

A-ux "Less Hate, More Love

A great friend of the blog has just sent me a new kicking track, I'm talking about A-ux who's new track is called "Less Hate, More Love" ; although the song is an electronic masterpiece, it is dear to my heart because our friend A-ux will be departing to South Korea for service, but don't worry he did promised that whenever possible he would send some new stuff. As an added bonus I'm including some of A-ux original work as well as my favorite remix; from all the people who read this blog we wish A-ux good luck and keep the music around.

Alex Metric, LehtMoJoe

Yesterday I got send some new stuff by Alex Metric, whose upcoming ep Head Straight will be released at the end of the month, I've posted about Alex Metric a few times before with some remixes and of curse his well known single "Deadly on a Mission" today single is along the lines of his last remix in that the energy and intensity are parallel on both.

Next, LehtMoJoe who is on a mission to release a song per week, he is also planning an event on the Granada Theater in July 31 so if you don't leave around Dallas...suck it!!! You probably live in a way cooler place than me. Anyhow, LehtMoJo remix of the week is "Little Secrets" by the Passion Pitt; on this remix LehtMoJo takes a more chilled route, as opposed to his usual bangers and today I received an email saying that he submitted his remix in the Daily Rind Blog contest, where the winner remix will be included on the single...Good Luck Leht.
